I've been all over. Left home at 16. I was at the logging camp in Kinuso. Two years. She was with me. I don't really wanna talk about Kinuso. My connections with John back to 1959 when he married us, which was the first marriage he performed after his ordination to the priesthood. He just turned 90, so he is 4 years ahead of me. Please. He was a few months old when my mother & my 2 older siblings came from Ukraine, to be with my dad who came 3 years earlier, & lived partly at your great grandfathers (Josef & Maria) farm or Josef’s brother’s (Stefan & Katherine) farm to earn money to buy his own homestead, 160 acres of raw land, for $10, in the bush country of northern Alberta, and where I was born. What are you looking at? We left the farm in Dec. 1944. In 1942 when my sister Anne was 19, she went to work on the Alaska highway project, which was being built by the American army. There were many good paying jobs. People were happier then. She ended up as a cook in a saw mill camp at the northern border of BC. This camp was run by 3 Lapointe brothers who came from a town only 30 miles west of our farm. She ended up marrying one of the brothers, Antoine. She now has 30 great grand kids, most speak French. She speaks 3 languages, since she never forgot her Ukrainian. Alberta Health has now taken over that senior’s home operation, 70km south of Peace River, AB. We've had a good life.
